The President of the Azerbaijan Wrestling Federation, Economy Minister Mikayil Jabbarov congratulated the Greco-Roman wrestlers who won three gold medals at the World Championship in non-Olympic weight categories held in Tirana, Albania.
“Our wrestlers have proudly secured 3 gold medals at the World Championship in Tirana, Albania. Eldaniz Azizli made history as Azerbaijan’s first 4-time world champion in wrestling. Nihat Mammadli and Ulvu Ganizada achieved their first World Championship gold medals,” Jabbarov said on X.
Azerbaijan’s Greco-Roman national wrestling team successfully defended its title, becoming world champions in the team standings for the second consecutive year, he said.
“We extend our heartfelt congratulations to the wrestlers, their families, and coaches on these historic achievements,” Jabbarov concluded.
