PM Keir Starmer: UK acknowledges critical juncture in climate crisis

“The UK government recognizes that the world stands at a critical juncture in the climate crisis,” Keir Starmer, Prime Minister of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, said at a press conference.

“The UK will aim to cut emissions by 81% by 2035. There is no national security, there is no economic security, there is no global security without climate security. Which is why we took the opportunity at this COP to again urge all parties to come forward with ambitious targets of their own,” the PM noted.

“Climate action is an opportunity for investment, better jobs, cheaper bills and developing the tech of the future. It’s opportunity to ensure the prosperity of all nations for decades to come. These are issues the UK government cares about,” he added.
