COP29 features panel discussions on Better Cotton

The 29th session of the Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP29) featured the panel discussion focusing on the theme "Better Cotton."

Organized by GP Cotton Holdings, the event saw discussions around sustainable cotton farming by addressing and fostering collaboration among industry leaders to develop actionable steps, resilience and rural development.

In their remarks, Majnun Mammadov, Azerbaijani Minister of Agriculture, Young Simpson, Chairman of GP Cotton Holdings, Eric Trachtenberg, Executive Director of the International Cotton Advisory Committee (ICAC) and others highlighted the importance of sustainable practices, expressing their views on increasing sustainability, reducing the environmental impact, and supporting rural development.

Minister Majnun Mammadov provided insights into innovative technologies applied in cotton-growing in Azerbaijan.

The event then featured a Q&A session.
