US Secretary of State Antony Blinken has discussed the situation in the South Caucasus with his Turkish counterpart Hakan Fidan, according to the US State Department spokesperson Matthew Miller.
He said the discussions took place during the meeting of the foreign ministers of the two countries on the margins of the G20 summit in Rio, Brazil, on November 19, AzVision.az reports citing the Department's press service.
Miller noted that the sides discussed the need for a diplomatic solution to the conflict in Lebanon with the full implementation of UN Security Council Resolution 1701 and the possibility of returning citizens on both sides of the border to their homes.
Discussions also included the ongoing humanitarian efforts in Gaza and the need to end the war and release all hostages.
In addition, Miller said that the parties discussed the importance of a dignified and lasting peace in the South Caucasus.
