Azerbaijan's Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov met with Tatiana Pugh Moreno, Deputy Minister of the People's Power for Foreign Affairs of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela.
The meeting saw discussions on the current bilateral and multilateral cooperation agenda between Azerbaijan and Venezuela, as well as prospects for cooperation in the fields of economy and trade, energy, tourism, agriculture, culture and education.
Minister Jeyhun Bayramov hailed the active political dialogue between the two countries, emphasizing the importance of contacts made during various visits and international events. He highlighted the value of such discussions for defining concrete plans in multiple areas.
Bayramov stressed the significance of boosting relations within multilateral platforms. The minister commended the cooperation based on mutual support and solidarity within international organizations, especially the UN and the Non-Aligned Movement.
Jeyhun Bayramov noted that the 30th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Azerbaijan and Venezuela would be celebrated in 2025.
Tatiana Pugh Moreno congratulated Azerbaijan on the excellent hosting of COP29 last month, adding that the outcomes of the conference significantly contribute to global efforts in combating climate change.
As part of Moreno’s visit to Azerbaijan, the second round of political consultations was held between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela.
The Azerbaijani delegation was led by Elnur Mammadov, Deputy Foreign Minister, while Tatiana Pug Moreno represented the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela.
The meeting also discussed the prospects for bilateral and multilateral relations between Azerbaijan and Venezuela, the upcoming plans for further development of relations, as well as other bilateral and regional issues of mutual interest.
