  South Korean president apologizes for imposing martial law

In a televised address to the nation, South Korean President Yoon Suk Yeol offered his deepest apologies for his decision to impose martial law in the country, AzVision.az reports, citing foreign media.

"I bring my deepest apologies for my actions," he stated, followed by a deep bow.

President Yoon also pledged to take responsibility for his actions and not attempt to evade any potential punishment.

"I will not try to avoid political and legal responsibility for the actions related to the declaration of martial law," he emphasized.

In recent days, the possibility of reimposing martial law has been actively discussed within South Korea's political establishment and media. However, President Yoon firmly dismissed such speculations, stating, "I say directly: there will not be a situation like a second martial law."

The president also apologized to the citizens for the concern and inconvenience caused by his decision.
