Ukraine receives new tranche of €4.1B from EU

Ukraine has received the second tranche of more than €4 billion from the EU under the Ukraine Facility program, Ukrainian Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal said on Telegram on Wednesday, AzVision.az reports, citing UNN.

"Ukraine has received €4.1 billion from the European Union under the Ukraine Facility program. This is the second regular payment allocated by the European Commission under this instrument. The next tranche was the result of our state's implementation of all the measures set out in the Ukraine Plan," the Prime Minister wrote.

Shmyhal said that this year's total assistance under the Ukraine Facility initiative amounts to €16.1 billion. In total, it provides for the provision of €50 billion to Ukraine. The program will run from 2024 to 2027.

“We thank the EU for its unwavering support of Ukraine, which is of great importance for strengthening the country's economic sustainability and transformation on the way to full EU membership," Shmyhal said.
