“On December 28, authorized investigators from the Aviation Accident Investigation and Prevention Center (CENIPA) arrived in Aktau,” stated the ministry’s press service, AzVision.az reports, citing Kazakh media.
A collaborative meeting was held to coordinate efforts and define tasks for the ongoing investigation at the crash site.
Representatives from the Embraer manufacturing plant, the company that produced the aircraft, had previously travelled to Aktau for the investigation. Additionally, the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) has expressed its willingness to dispatch an expert to support the inquiry.
On December 25, an Embraer aircraft operated by Azerbaijan Airlines, en route from Baku to Grozny, crashed near the Kazakh city of Aktau. Onboard were 62 passengers, including 37 Azerbaijani citizens, 16 Russians, 6 Kazakhs, and 3 Kyrgyz nationals, along with five crew members. The incident resulted in 38 fatalities, while 29 passengers survived.
