The event brought together the heads of sports organizations, federations, media outlets, athletes, coaches and representatives of the sports community.

The ceremony was also attended by Leyla Aliyeva, Vice President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation and Arzu Aliyeva, Head of Baku Media Center.

The ceremony began with the performance of the State Anthem of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

Describing 2024 as a successful year for Azerbaijani sports, Farid Gayibov, Minister of Youth and Sports, congratulated the leaders of federations, athletes, coaches, sports community on this occasion. He noted that during the event dedicated to 2024 sports results, President Ilham Aliyev awarded a number of representatives of the sports community that provided a significant motivational boost for the athletes. He also expressed his confidence that 2025 would be even more successful for Azerbaijani sports.

A video highlighting the 2024 sports results was screened, followed by an awarding ceremony in various nominations determined through a survey conducted among federations, sports journalists, and social networks.

The best media outlets of the year were also announced at the ceremony. CBC Sport topped the list. Azerbaijan State News Agency (AZERTAC) ranked the 2nd. Anar Alakbarov, Assistant to the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, President of Azerbaijan`s Automobile Federation presented the award to AZERTAC. Idman.biz. secured the third spot.
