“I would rather not comment on the relations between the United States and Azerbaijan now. However, in general, I can note that we saw a one-sided approach by the US Democratic administration, as well as a number of European countries, in 2024. We also saw the facts of unilateral support for Armenia,” Jeyhun Bayramov, Azerbaijan’s Foreign Minister, told journalists.
Recalling the meeting held between the U.S., the European Union and Armenia on April 5 last year, FM Bayramov said: “It was difficult to give any explanation for this meeting. Such a biased approach by the parties, especially those trying to introduce themselves as mediators at a rather active stage of the normalization process between Armenia and Azerbaijan, is obviously unacceptable.”
“We have also observed the intentions of the Democrats in the U.S. to punish Azerbaijan by bringing the amendment 907 shortly following the one-day anti-terrorist operation onto the agenda, as well as a number of their biased steps,” the minister underlined.
"You know that today the inauguration of the new President will be held in the U.S., and after that, Republicans will be in power in America for the next four-year term. We believe that we will observe a difference in approach towards us. Azerbaijan supports a predictable relationship with the U.S., based on mutual interests and respect," the minister added.
