Azerbaijan, Iran explore enhancing relations across various domains

The 16th meeting of the Joint Intergovernmental Commission on Economic, Trade and Humanitarian Cooperation between the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Islamic Republic of Iran was held in Tehran.

The discussions focused on further expanding mutual relations in the areas of economics, trade, investment, oil and gas, energy, transport, and humanitarian efforts, as well as the implementation of joint projects.

During the meeting, Shahin Mustafayev, Azerbaijan`s Deputy Prime Minister and Chairman of the Commission from the Azerbaijani side, and Farzaneh Sadegh, Iran’s Minister of Roads and Urban Planning and Chairperson of the Commission from the Iranian side, signed a Memorandum of Understanding.

Shahin Mustafayev also held meetings with the Chairman of the Supreme National Security Council of Iran, as well as the Ministers of Roads and Urban Planning, Petroleum, and Energy, to discuss regional and international issues, as well as other issues of mutual interest.
