Turkish FM: Energy crisis increased geopolitical importance of Central Asia, Caucasus

The energy crisis caused by sanctions has increased the geopolitical importance of energy-rich Central Asia and the Caucasus, Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan said during the 2nd trilateral meeting of foreign affairs, economy/trade, and transport ministers of Azerbaijan-Türkiye-Uzbekistan in Ankara, AzVision.az reports.

Fidan noted that Türkiye creates peace, prosperity, and stability for the region and its surroundings.

Speaking about the changes in Syria, the minister emphasized that the changes in Syria have created a new window of opportunity for the region:

"We must support Syria's revival. Its development will ensure regional stability and security, and will also create new opportunities in areas such as logistics, trade, and energy."
