  Baku, Bratislava discuss future of consular, migration cooperation 

Baku hosted the first round of consular consultations between Azerbaijan and Slovakia, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan.

The Azerbaijani delegation was led by Emil Safarov, Head of the Consular Department, while the Slovak delegation was headed by Martin Barton, Director of the Consular Department of Slovakia’s Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs, Caliber.Az reports.

The meeting also included representatives from relevant agencies of both countries, the State Migration Service of Azerbaijan, and officials from the Slovak Embassy in Azerbaijan.

During the consultations, the current state and prospects of Azerbaijani-Slovak cooperation in the consular sphere were discussed, alongside opportunities to expand the bilateral legal framework.

The discussions also covered the development of bilateral ties for providing effective consular assistance and protecting the rights and interests of citizens from both countries. Additionally, there was an exchange of views on visa policy.

In conclusion, both sides reviewed a number of proposals aimed at enhancing cooperation in the social and migration sectors, reaching agreements on measures to strengthen connections in these areas.
