Azerbaijan`s Defense Minister, colonel-general Zakir Hasanov received a delegation led by EU special envoy for South Caucasus Herbert Zalber.
AzVision.az reports with reference to the news service for the Defense Ministry that Z.Hasanov informed the delegation members about 20 years of occupation of Azerbaijani lands, as a result of which over a million of refugees were forced to flee their homes. He noted that the Armenian armed forces launch fire on surrounding villages and civilians.
The minister reminded the guests about the four resolutions of the UN Security Council, demanding the unconditional withdrawal of Armenian troops from the occupied lands.
Hasanov noted: "Armenian authorities have been ignoring the fair demand of the international community for many years and show interest in preservation of the established status quo. The supreme commander of our armed forces has noted that we will never reconcile with the occupation of our lands and our armed forces will fulfill such a sacred task as their release."
The sides exchanged views on the military and political situation established in the region, as well as on the issues of mutual concern.
