Khojaly genocide victims commemorated at Italy

An event dedicated to the 33rd anniversary of the Khojaly genocide has been held in the Chamber of Deputies of Italy.

Italian Senator Giulio Terzi wrote on X that as a result of the brutal massacre committed by Armenian armed forces against the civilian population on February 26, 1992, 613 Azerbaijani citizens were killed, including 63 children, 106 women and 70 elderly people.

The senator also stressed that today there is significant progress in the relations between the two countries.

"A long series of positive steps, the importance of which Italy recently emphasized by unanimously adopting a corresponding proposal in the Senate, pave the way for a final peace treaty between Baku and Yerevan," Terzi noted.

Earlier the Italian Senate adopted a resolution supporting the initiative to promote the peace process between Azerbaijan and Armenia, which was signed by representatives of almost all parliamentary groups.
