Month of Ramadan begins in Azerbaijan

The month of Ramadan has begun Azerbaijan

According to the Caucasus Muslims Board, the first day of Ramadan this year falls on March 1 according to the Gregorian calendar.

The fatwa states that this year, Ramadan coincides with the Novruz holiday, and from the perspective of Sharia, this does not create any issues in society.

"Charity, helping those in need, the homeless, orphanages, the elderly, and caring for parents are among the good deeds that are especially obligatory during Ramadan, and these good deeds align with the traditions of Novruz," the fatwa states.

The Caucasus Muslims' Board emphasized that festive meals, including on the last festive Tuesday, should be arranged after iftar.

On the first day of Ramadan, imsak (the pre-dawn meal) will be at 05:49, and iftar (the evening meal) will be at 18:47.

The Eid al-Fitr (Ramadan) holiday will be celebrated in Azerbaijan on March 30. According to a resolution by the Cabinet of Ministers, March 30 and 31 will be non-working days in the country.
