Israel seeks to enhance strategic ties with Azerbaijan

Israel is interested in developing a strategic partnership with Azerbaijan, AzVision.az reports, citing The Jerusalem Post.

"Azerbaijan is an important strategic ally of Israel in the Caucasus region, with relations covering cooperation in security, trade, technology, and energy," the newspaper quotes the Israeli Prime Minister's office.

According to the Prime Minister's office, Israel is in negotiations with Washington to create a solid foundation for trilateral cooperation between Israel, Azerbaijan, and the United States.

The publication notes that this statement follows discussions in the Knesset on the topic "Strengthening the Strategic Alliance Between Israel and Azerbaijan."

Speaking on behalf of the Israeli government, Minister for National Missions Orit Strock emphasized that "the relations between Israel and Azerbaijan are based on a unique partnership founded on mutual interests and long-standing friendship."

According to her, the dialogue between the countries is manifested through mutual high-level visits: "These relations align with Israel's broader regional policy of strengthening alliances in the region and building bridges with other Muslim countries."

Knesset member Simon Moshiashvili, during the discussions, stated the need to strengthen the strategic alliance with Azerbaijan.

Moshiashvili specifically highlighted the unique status of the Jewish community in Azerbaijan, calling it exemplary, active, prosperous, and particularly united.
