On March 6, an explosion occurred at a factory in Aichi Prefecture that produces components for Toyota. The explosion involved an industrial dust collector.
As a result of the incident, one person was killed, and several others were injured.
Due to disruptions in the supply of parts, it was initially decided to halt three assembly lines at two plants in Aichi Prefecture starting March 10. However, it was later revealed that Toyota would have to shut down another assembly line at its plant in Kyodo, where Toyota Probox vehicles are produced.
It is currently unknown when the company will be able to restart the suspended assembly lines.
