Milli Majlis slams biased statement by Swedish parliament

Members of the Milli Majlis Working Group on Azerbaijan-Sweden Inter-Parliamentary Relations sent a letter to the members of the Sweden-Armenia Friendship Group in the Swedish Parliament.

The Azerbaijani parliamentarians strongly reject the unfounded, biased, and prejudiced statement adopted by the Swedish Parliament on March 6, 2025, Azvision.az reports.

"The statement, full of false accusations and misinformation, is a shameful attempt to distort the truth, undermine the sovereignty of the Republic of Azerbaijan, and absolve the crimes committed by Armenian separatists and military criminals against the Azerbaijani people.

As part of the Armenian lobby, you chose to remain silent about Armenia's 30-year occupation of internationally recognized Azerbaijani territories, numerous military crimes, ethnic cleansing, and severe human rights violations against peaceful Azerbaijani civilians. You deliberately ignored the atrocities committed by Armenian armed forces, the Khojaly genocide, and the brutal killings of innocent people, including children, women, and the elderly, who were subjected to unimaginable torture," the statement reads.

The letter also highlights that Azerbaijan, having restored its territorial integrity and sovereignty, has the full legal right to prosecute those responsible for serious crimes.

"The selective and biased approach, based on double standards, clearly shows that the true goal of the members of this group is to defame Azerbaijan through political manipulation," the parliamentarians concluded.
