“A number of pivotal decisions were adopted to increase social benefits in 2024 in order to foster the social protection of the population, especially to raise the purchasing power and real incomes of the low-income citizens,” Prime Minister of Azerbaijan Ali Asadov said in his remarks concerning the Cabinet’s 2024 report at the Milli Majlis session on Friday.

The Prime Minister noted that 39 percent of state budget expenditures or 14.6 billion manats were directed to financing social expenditures in order to strengthen the social protection of the population in 2024.

“In 2024, the average pension increased by 12 percent, the retirement pension by 11.3 percent, while minimum living wage stood at 270 manats across the country (an increase of 9.8 percent). The average monthly social assistance per family amounted to 475 manats,” Asadov emphasized.
