Azerbaijan may introduce compulsory health insurance from next year

Azerbaijan may introduce compulsory health insurance from next year, Finance Minister Samir Sharifov said during the discussion of draft state budget of for 2016 by the Committees on Economic Policy, Agrarian Policy, Natural resources and Energy, Social Policy, Security and Defence of Azerbaijani Parliament.

According to him, relevant organization will be established: “There is a legislative framework on application of compulsory health insurance in Azerbaijan. However, this sphere needs practical measures and a decision in this regard has already been passed. Now, the issue of application of compulsory health insurance will simplify the determination of the maximum limit of expenditures allocated by the state”.
