He made the remarks at the 4th annual meeting of the Heads of Space Agencies and relevant institutions of the member countries of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS) in Baku on Wednesday, AzVision.az reports.
Badirkhanov noted that the Turkic World Vision 2040, which was approved in 2021, envisages clear goals for space cooperation, highlighting our collective commitment to peaceful space exploration and scientific progress.
The acting chair stressed that one more promising example of growing regional collaboration is CubeSat Project. He expressed Azerbaijan’s readiness to implement this initiative in close partnership with the OTS member states leveraging a cost effective and scalable satellite model to promote technical cooperation.
“Beyond its technical scope, the initiative is also designed to show our regional environmental goals with advanced sensors. The project will monitor carbon dioxide and metal emissions, contributing vital data in the fight against climate change and strengthening our regional capabilities in environmental protection,” he said.
The acting chair also pointed out Azerbaijan’s comprehensive space strategy, which clearly defines national objectives and alliance the ministries, public agencies, universities and private sector partners.
“This holistic approach ensures that every stakeholder contributes building a resilient space ecosystem. In parallel, Azerbaijan has adopted the local space activities, a vital step in formalizing our national space ambitions. Its alignment with UN space treaties ensures that our activities are consistent with global standards, reinforcing our commitment to responsible space exploration,” he added.
