New reality strengthened Azerbaijan’s position in international relations - Samad Seyidov

Today, international relations are undergoing a deep crisis and a period of uncertainty. The established rules governing inter-state relations and traditional institutions have been eroded. In many cases, this situation leads to chaos, wars, and the breakdown of global order, said Samad Seyidov, Chairman of the Milli Majlis Committee on International Relations and Interparliamentary Affairs, during an expanded meeting of the committee held on Wednesday.

In his remarks, Seyidov pointed to several global developments as evidence of current instability: the tense situation in the Middle East, the ongoing war in Europe, the emergence of a new political landscape in the United States, China's rise as a global power, and the conflict between India and Pakistan.

Despite this backdrop of chaos and systemic crisis in international affairs, he emphasized that Azerbaijan has successfully pursued a consistent, predictable, and peace-oriented foreign policy rooted in national interests. This, he noted, has been made possible thanks to the new reality established in the region under the leadership of President Ilham Aliyev.

“This new reality has not only enabled Azerbaijan to restore its territorial integrity and full sovereignty but has also significantly enhanced the country's role and standing in the international system. Today, under the strategic leadership of President Ilham Aliyev, Azerbaijan has become a point of convergence for global powers, positioning itself as a key actor in fostering dialogue and cooperation,” Seyidov said.
