Separatist regime rejects Robert Walter`s appeal to visit Nagorno Karabakh
Separatist regime in the occupied territories of Azerbaijan rejected PACE Political Affairs and Democracy Committee`s rapporteur on the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, Robert Walter
Armine Aleksanyan, presenting herself as “deputy minister of foreign affairs” of the separatist regime in Nagorno-Karabakh told RFE/RL Armenian Service.

“On September 22, Rapporteur of PACE Robert Walter sent a letter to us asking to assist in visiting Nagorno Karabakh for preparing a report entitled ‘Escalation of violence in Nagorno Karabakh and the other occupied territories of Azerbaijan.’ However, his appeal was rejected. We think that the title of the report reflects the position of only one party to the conflict,” said Aleksanyan.

Robert Walter carried out a fact-finding visit to the area of the line of contact in the Nagorno-Karabakh region from the side under control of the Azerbaijani authorities, on 15 September for preparing a report entitled “Escalation of violence in Nagorno-Karabakh and the other occupied territories of Azerbaijan”.

It was noted that a visit on the other side of the line of contact is foreseen in the near future.
