President Ilham Aliyev attended inauguration of “Talistan” Lyceum in Ismayilli city

On May 26, President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev attended the inauguration of the boarding-type “Talistan” Lyceum in the city of Ismayilli, initiated by the Heydar Aliyev Foundation.

Nahid Baghirov, Head of the Ismayilli District Executive Authority, briefed the head of state on the facilities at the educational institution.

As part of the “New School for a Renewing Azerbaijan” program implemented by the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, special attention is given to constructing new school buildings across many regions of the country that meet international standards, as well as equipping them with modern facilities. Significant efforts are also underway to majorly renovate several older school buildings.

The 1,296-seat lyceum was built under the “New School for a Renewing Azerbaijan” program. The four-story building consists of five blocks and includes 56 classrooms; chemistry, physics, and biology laboratories; computer science, technology, and pre-conscription training rooms for youth; a library; a 300-seat assembly hall; a sports hall; and a canteen.

After touring the “Talistan” Lyceum, the head of state was informed about socio-economic projects implemented in the district in recent years, including production facilities and recreation centers commissioned between 2020 and 2025. Nearly 400 jobs have been created at these facilities during this period.

President Ilham Aliyev was also briefed on the construction of a water production facility in the village of Tirjan in the district. The facility, with an annual production capacity of 25 million liters, will employ 80 people.
