Azerbaijan and Panama sign Memorandum of Understanding
Azerbaijan and Panama signed a memorandum of understanding on bilateral consultations, the press service of the Foreign Ministry told, AzVision.az reports.
The Memorandum was signed within the official visit of Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov to Panama during the meeting with the Vice President and Minister of Foreign Affairs of this country Isabel Saint Malo de Alvarado.

According to de Alvarado, Panama is interested in developing relations with Azerbaijan.

Mammadyarov, in his turn, noted that Azerbaijan attaches great importance to development of comprehensive relations with the countries of Central and South America.

Noting that cooperation in the fields of education, science and other humanities are opportunities, Azerbaijani Foreign Minister said that the establishment of contacts between the University of ADA and the Diplomatic Institute of Panama will be effective.

Speaking of the railway line Baku-Tbilisi-Kars, the Baku International Sea Trade Port and the possibilities of transport infrastructure of Azerbaijan, Mammadyarov noted that the implementation of these projects will contribute to the growth of freight traffic along the ancient Silk Road, as well as the expansion of trade and economic relations.

He thanked Panama for its just position based on the principles of international law regarding the Armenian-Azerbaijani conflict and the resolution on the recognition of Khojaly genocide adopted by the Parliament.

Foreign Minister of Panama said that territorial integrity and sovereignty of states are important principles for the country.

Mammadyarov invited the Foreign Minister of Panama to visit Azerbaijan.
