Japan Government Resigns to Form New Cabinet
The Japanese government resigned en masse at an extraordinary meeting on Wednesday after submitting applications to Prime Minister Shinzo Abe.
The cabinet had to be renewed after Abe was re-elected as a leader of the ruling Liberal Democratic Party (LDP) in September until the end of September 2018, making him the head of the government for another three years.

Chief Cabinet Secretary Yoshihide Suga is expected to announce the new cabinet composition later on Wednesday. After that, the ministers of newly formed government are scheduled to get approval by the Emperor of Japan.

Abe will hold a press conference later in the day, to report on the goals of his new cabinet.
