On September 7, the delegation participated in a roundtable discussion with a senior Chinese state representative and leading institutional leaders. The event provided an important platform for direct exchanges between investors active in China and government officials, focusing on deepening cooperation and expanding collaboration opportunities.
The delegation also met with Qingsong Zhang, Chairman and CEO of the China Investment Corporation (CIC), to discuss specific areas of cooperation and identify next steps for launching joint projects.
It was noted that the Memorandum of Understanding signed between SOFAZ and CIC during President Ilham Aliyev’s state visit to China in April 2025 marked a significant milestone in the partnership between the sovereign wealth funds of both countries. The agreement established a strategic framework for knowledge sharing, sustainable investment models, and the promotion of mutually beneficial initiatives, further strengthening China–Azerbaijan relations.
