Foreign Ministries of Azerbaijan and Djibouti hold political consultations

Jeyhun Bayramov, Azerbaijan’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, met with Mohammed Ali Hassan, Secretary General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Djibouti.

The sides discussed prospects for bilateral cooperation, as well as opportunities for partnership in multilateral formats. They emphasized the broad potential for collaboration in economic, trade, humanitarian, educational, and other areas.

The meeting also highlighted the importance of continuing mutual support and solidarity within international and regional organizations, including the United Nations, the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), and the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM). The parties noted that Azerbaijan’s chairmanship of the OIC from 2026, following the summit to be held in Baku, will create additional opportunities for joint initiatives.

Discussions further touched upon the recent meeting held in Washington and the agreements reached there. Minister Bayramov reaffirmed that Azerbaijan, as the initiator of the peace process with Armenia, will continue its efforts to advance the peace agenda.

The sides also exchanged views on other issues of mutual interest.

On the same day, political consultations were held between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan and Djibouti. Deputy Foreign Minister Yalchin Rafiyev represented Azerbaijan, while Djibouti was represented by Secretary General Mohammed Ali Hassan.
