Azerbaijani PM meets with ADB President

On November 14, Ali Asadov, Prime Minister of Azerbaijan, met with Masato Kanda, President of the Asian Development Bank (ADB).

The meeting highlighted the existing long-term and fruitful partnership between Azerbaijan and the ADB.

The officials underscored that over the past period, the ADB has supported the development of various sectors of the Azerbaijani economy. They also hailed the successful implementation of joint projects covering transport, water supply, energy, finance, education, healthcare, and other areas.

PM Ali Asadov noted that Azerbaijan is a participant in the ADB’s initiative aiming to provide assistance to the less-developed countries, with the country also donating to the Bank's Asian Development Fund.

Touching upon the favorable investment and business climate in Azerbaijan, PM Ali Asadov briefed the ADB President on the programs aimed at the reconstruction and economic revival of the liberated Azerbaijani territories, as well as the investment potential in these areas.

The meeting also addressed opportunities for cooperation within ADB’s Country Partnership Strategy (CPS) for Azerbaijan for 2025–2029 launched this July, namely the expansion of the metro network, improvement of railway infrastructure, improvement of the water supply system, and a number of other promising projects on the bilateral agenda.
