Azerbaijan’s Ministry of Labour and Social Protection hosted a meeting with a World Bank mission to the country.
During the meeting, Deputy Minister of Labor and Social Protection of the Population Anar Bayramov informed the World Bank officials about the recent reforms implemented in disability and rehabilitation in the country, highlighting the successful collaboration between the ministry and the organization.
Noting that the functionality of digital infrastructure for disability assessment has been significantly expanded in Azerbaijan, the Deputy Minister emphasized that starting July 1, 2022, Azerbaijan implemented new disability assessment criteria based on the "percentage of loss of body functions.”
The meeting also highlighted the importance of work in rehabilitation services and facilities, as well as innovations in this area.
The members of the mission - Country Manager for the World Bank in Azerbaijan Stefanie Stallmeister, Senior Social Protection Specialists Marijana Jasarevic and Aleksandra Posarac, and Operations Analyst Nigar Sadikhova - expressed their views on the implemented reforms.
The meeting also featured World Bank's researches on the disability system through new advisory services and detailed analytical framework.
