Baku to launch direct flights to Bratislava

A working meeting was held between Azerbaijan Airlines CJSC (AZAL), part of AZCON Holding, and the Hungarian airline Wizz Air to discuss expanding the route network between Azerbaijan and Central and Eastern European countries.

During the meeting, the parties reviewed plans to launch direct Baku–Bratislava flights, as well as potential additions to Bucharest (Romania) and Warsaw (Poland). They also evaluated opportunities for Wizz Air to operate flights from regional airports in Azerbaijan and assessed possible basing models. This initiative is expected to boost tourism, enhance business mobility, and strengthen international connectivity across Azerbaijan’s regions.

The launch of the new flights is planned in the near future, initially covering Bratislava, Bucharest, and Warsaw.

Azerbaijan Airlines and Wizz Air will continue consultations on subsequent phases of cooperation, aiming to further expand Azerbaijan’s civil aviation network and create a more competitive and accessible route system for passengers.
