Azerbaijan, UK exchange views on artificial intelligence and cybersecurity

Samir Mammadov, Azerbaijan’s Deputy Minister of Digital Development and Transport, met with the visiting UK Trade Envoy to Azerbaijan and Central Asia, Lord John Alderdice.

Mammadov briefed the UK Trade Envoy on investments and projects implemented in the country's transport and communication infrastructure over the last 20 years.

He also noted that as a result of Azerbaijan's active cooperation with Central Asia, as well as other countries located on the Middle Corridor, the volume of transportation through this corridor has increased several times in recent years.

Samir Mammadov provided insight into the efforts toward the construction of the Zangezur corridor, highlighting that the project would contribute to the diversification of regional communications, as well as support sustainable peace and prosperity in the region.

The sides exchanged views on the priority areas of activity on the partnership agenda between Azerbaijan and the United Kingdom, including prospects for joint activities in aviation and rail transport, artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, and the development of human capital with digital knowledge and skills.
