A new 124-room hotel building is planned to open in the Shahdag area during the upcoming winter season, AzVision.az reports.
Rustam Najafov, Chairman of Shahdag Mountain Resort, operating under the State Tourism Agency (STA), announced the planned expansions at the resort during a two-day media tour organized to launch the opening of the winter season. He noted that the hotel will feature ski simulators installed for the first time in Azerbaijan.
‘These simulators will allow tourists to train and learn skiing skills not only during the winter season but throughout the entire year. At the same time, these simulators will make a significant contribution to the training of young athletes.’
Najafov stated that a new multifunctional building will be constructed during the season in the area of the Zirva Hotel in Shahdag. As part of preparations for the season, they are recruiting new staff, conducting training programs and carrying out other preparatory activities:
‘A total of 1,900 people are employed across all facilities located within the Shahdag Mountain Resort, including hotels, food and beverage outlets, ski facilities, and others. 90% of them are local residents,’ he noted.
