Azerbaijan joins discussions on labor market policies at World Governments Summit in Dubai

The World Governments Summit is taking place in Dubai, the United Arab Emirates, bringing together world leaders, high-ranking officials, and representatives of international organizations.

The summit features discussions on strengthening sustainable development, building future-ready societies, and shaping labor market policies in response to rapid transformations in key sectors and deepening global changes.

Vusal Nasirli, Azerbaijan’s Deputy Minister of Labor and Social Protection of the Population, participated in the summit’s plenary session, as well as in the Future of Work Forum 2026 held on the sidelines of the global event.

The forum addressed issues such as improving workforce skills in line with rapid changes in the labor market driven by technological development, preparing human capital for future challenges, and aligning labor market strategies with the requirements of the digital economy.

On the margins of the forum, Deputy Minister Vusal Nasirli met with Abdulrahman Abdulmannan Al Awar, UAE Minister of Human Resources and Emiratization and Acting Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research.

The sides discussed the dynamic and comprehensive development of interstate relations between Azerbaijan and the UAE, based on brotherhood, mutual respect, trust, and support.

They emphasized the significant potential for expanding cooperation between the two countries in the fields of labor, employment, and social protection of the population.

The parties also stressed the importance of the cooperation document signed between the two ministries in 2025 as a key instrument for further deepening bilateral relations.

The meeting additionally focused on prospects for future cooperation.
