Astana to host meeting of Council of CIS Foreign Ministers
The meeting of the Council of Foreign Ministers of Commonwealth of Independent States will be held in Astana on October 15, AzVision.az reports quoting AKI press.
22 issues are on the agenda, including security cooperation, draft laws on military cooperation of CIS member countries until 2020, amendments to the decision of the CIS council of prime ministers on basic organization in the sphere of researching the problems of air defense from 30 May 2012.

The ministers will discuss draft decrees on appointing a head of the anti-terrorist center of CIS member countries and draft agreement on establishing joint investigative groups. They will also focus on the procedures of conducting international investigations.

In the framework of strengthening cooperation in the law enforcement sphere, the participants will discuss the agreement initiated by the Russian side on establishing a Council of heads of penitentiary services and adopting a convention on implementing court decisions toward individuals sentenced to punishment other than imprisonment.

The issues of deepening cooperation in the sphere of preventing and providing disaster relief after natural disasters and technological catastrophes, as well as in the sphere of ecological monitoring, will also be on the agenda.

Work on strengthening cooperation in CIS will continue on October 16 at the Council of CIS Heads of States.
