The official representatative in the country was called into the ministry in connection with the question, AzVision.az reports.
During the meeting, it was brought to the attention that the illegal economic activities in the occupied territories of Azerbaijan entails a measure of responsibility in accordance with national legislation, including tax, customs, financial, business and migration legislation, and that such actions of "Grant Thornton International" are unacceptable. The representative was asked to convey this to the central office.
Along with this, a letter reflecting the position of the Azerbaijani side was sent to the company "Grant Thornton International".
As a result of the measures taken, the question raised was discussed at the highest level at the central office of the company and the anxiety of the Azerbaijani side was met with understanding. The company officially announced that in the future no work of propaganda and agitation in the occupied lands of Azerbaijan and no books titled "Nagorno Karabakh" will be released.
Ministry of Economy and Industry once again bring to the attention of international companies and organizations, that carrying out of any economic activity in the occupied Azerbaijani territories is contrary to international legal standards and laws of the Republic of Azerbaijan, and in such cases serious penalties will be taken.
