Azerbaijan, Iran to supply world markets with products of Tabriz refinery
Azerbaijan and Iran will create a joint venture which will be engaged in the supply of products of Tabriz refinery to the world market, the head of Iran`s East Azerbaijan province Ismail Jabbarzade, who is on a visit to Baku.

He made the remarks after a meeting with the minister of economy and industry of Azerbaijan, co-chair of the Azerbaijani-Iranian commission on cooperation in economic, trade and humanitarian spheres Shahin Mustafayev.

“Tabriz has an oil refinery, and we agreed to use this opportunity and establish a joint venture that will supply the plant`s products to world markets,” said Jabbarzade. “In addition, we discussed the issue of the establishment of joint companies and enterprises that will operate on the Russian and Central Asian markets.”

He said that during the visit to Baku, they discussed issues related to development of cooperation between the Azerbaijani and Iranian universities, student and faculty exchange, holding joint scientific conferences, as well as the development of tourism between the two countries.

Tabriz refinery processes 115,000 barrels of oil per day. Every day, the plant produces 3.3 million liters of gasoline, 1.4 million liters of kerosene, 6.6 million liters of diesel and 1.4 million liters of fuel oil. The factory also daily produces 600,000 liters of liquefied gas (LPG).

The visit of Ismail Jabbarzade to Azerbaijan began October 19. First he visited Nakhchivan, and today, Oct.20, he held a series of meetings in Baku. Tomorrow, Oct.21, the head of the province will leave for Ganja.
