Turkey appeals to Court of Arbitration over Russian gas prices
Turkey appealed to the International Court of Arbitration on Oct.26 over the prices for Russian gas supplied to the country, Hurriyet newspaper reported Oct.27.
BOTAS Petroleum Pipeline Corporation of Turkey earlier stated that the country may appeal to the Court of Arbitration if Russia’s Gazprom doesn’t announce about the final discount for BOTAS.

BOTAS demands the price of natural gas that it has purchased from Russia since December 29, 2014 to be reviewed. Both countries agreed on discount for gas prices in 2014. However, BOTAS refused from Russia’s gas offer since it demanded additional concessions from Turkey on construction of the Turkish Stream pipeline. In late July of this year, talks on the construction of the Turkish Stream pipeline were frozen. One reason for this is that Russia didn’t make a discount.
