Russia stands up for Azerbaijan
"The OSCE has taken openly politicized decision", the Russian Foreign Ministry commissioner for human rights, democracy and the rule of law, Konstantin Dolgov.

Moscow considers the decision Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights of the OSCE not to send observers to the forthcoming parliamentary elections in Azerbaijan politicized.

The elections to the unicameral parliament of Azerbaijan will be held on 1 November. According to the CEC, 769 candidates claimed for 125 seats in the parliament.

OSCE earlier declared the decision not to monitor parliamentary elections in Azerbaijan because the country`s authorities imposed restrictions on the number of observers.

"With regard to the upcoming elections to the Milli Majlis of Azerbaijan, ODIHR (OSCE) in response to the demands of the authorities to reduce the number of international observer ( the proposed figures were clearly inflated) adopted openly politicized decision not to send observers there," Dolgov said during parliamentary hearings on the theme "Universal standards in the organization of elections and the subsequent evaluation of their results."
