“Azerbaijan is, first of all, a strategic partner of Russia. Azerbaijan isn’t joining any geopolitical “games” of the West and pursues an independent policy in line with national interests,” he said.
“The second reason is the view points of the Western public and politicians. They are still having “illusions”. But it isn’t necessary to attach great importance to this criticism,” said Ivanov.
Azerbaijan will hold parliamentary election Nov. 1. As many as 769 MP candidates have been registered take part in the election.
Earlier, Azerbaijan’s Central Election Commission accredited 465 observers from 36 international structures for them to observe the Nov. 1 election.
Missions representing 53 countries will also be involved in the election observation.
