Turkey urges Iran to increase gas supply
An Iranian official says that Ankara has requested Tehran increase gas supplies delivered to Turkey.
The director of the dispatching center of the National Iranian Gas Company, Manouchehr Taheri, said his country’s current volume of gas to Turkey is about 31 million cubic meters per day (mcm/d), IRNA news agency reported Nov 7.

He added that Ankara has made the request for additional gas prior to the winter season.

Without mentioning any figure, Taheri said that Iran`s gas production increased by 6 billion cubic meters (bcm) during the first 226 days of the current fiscal year, which began March 21.

Iran`s gas production reached 202 bcm of gas, while consumption stood at 190 bcm during the last fiscal year.

Iran exported about 8.9 bcm of gas to Turkey in the last fiscal year.
