British offer $800 mln to Azerbaijan
"Azersu" JSC signed a memorandum of cooperation with the British company "Biwater" and its local partner - "Nobel Oil" on November 10, "Azersu" reported.
The Memorandum provides for maintenance work on the feasibility study and other research work on the construction of facilities for wastewater treatment in Lokbatan and Shuvelan, AzVision.az reports.

Speaking at the signing ceremony, the Chairman of "Azersu" Qorkhmaz Huseynov said that the cooperation with the company "Biwater" with an extensive experience in feasibility study for the construction of plants for wastewater treatment, has broad prospects:

"After the construction of sewage treatment facilities in Lokbatan and Shuvelan, most of the waste water of the Absheron Peninsula will drain into it. These projects also provide for the construction of sewers of tunnel and micro-tunnel type. I believe that the projects have a greater environmental benefit."

Executive Chairman of "Biwater" Adrian White said that they are interested in cooperation with Azerbaijan in this sphere:

"The major projects have been launched in a short time. Considering the extensive experience of our company in this area, we intend to take part in large-scale projects in the field of wastewater management in Azerbaijan, and to implement them in a short time. "

It should be noted that the document was signed by Chairman of "Azersu" Qorkhmaz Huseynov, Executive Chairman of "Biwater" Adrian White and CEO of "Nobel Oil" Michael Ring.

Export Financing Agency of UK has proposed to allocate $800 mln for the construction of wastewater treatment plants and sewage collectors in the Absheron Peninsula.
