The conference is scheduled for Nov. 16-17.
Stepping up maritime and port cooperation, sharing the Caspian states’ maritime expertise, promoting trade between the countries, absorbing investments from the private sector to develop port infrastructure and developing maritime tourism in the Caspian Sea are some of the main topics set to be discussed at the conference.
The participant sides are expected to sign a cooperation protocol during the conference.
The sixth joint meeting of the five-way port managers of the Caspian countries was held in September 2013 in Russia.
The Caspian Sea littoral countries held a Summit of the Caspian Sea littoral states was held in the Russian port city of Astrakhan last September.
There agreements for bilateral cooperation were signed by ministers of the five states and included issues related to their cooperation on optimal use of the seabed and subterranean resources, as well as joint measures to be taken in the field of weather and climate, joint rescue operations.
Iran meanwhile plans to boost trade and economic ties with the Caspian littoral countries.
Completing the Qazvin-Rasht-Anzali railway project, construction of a new port in the Caspian Sea and development of the Anzali port are among the administration`s plans for boosting transit capabilities in the Caspian Sea.
