Earlier, on Oct. 31, an Airbus 321 aircraft of Russian airline Kogalymavia, which was en route from Egypt’s Sharm el-Sheikh Airport to Saint Petersburg, crashed in Sinai.
The disaster, in which 217 passengers and seven crew members lost their lives, is believed to be the deadliest aviation disaster in the history of Russia and the Soviet Union.
During the meeting, Bortnikov informed President Putin that the examination of the personal belongings and luggage of the passengers onboard the aircraft as well as the plane’s wreckage revealed the trails of an explosive substance.
