The chief accountant of Baku Telephone Network Production Association Rashad Mammadov was sentenced to 3-month pretrial detention under the court decision.
Earlier, the head of the Nizami ATX of the production association Fetullah Seyidov was also sentenced to 3 months in prison.
Both of them face charges under articles 179.1 (embezzlement), 308 (abuse of power) and 313 (forgery) of the Criminal Code of Azerbaijan Republic.
The criminal case opened against abuse of power, embezzlement and other violations committed by officials of the Ministry of Communications and High Technologies, as well as its subordinate bodies is being investigated at the Anti-Corruption Department of the Prosecutor General’s Office.
As a result of the investigation, 10 officials of the Ministry of Communications and High Technologies have been arrested so far.
