Azerbaijani president receives US deputy assistant secretary of state
Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev has received a delegation led by US Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for European and Eurasian Affairs Bridget Brink.

Mrs. Brink praised the opportunity to meet President Ilham Aliyev upon the discussions of the U.S. and Azerbaijani presidents on bilateral relations. Recalling her previous visits to Azerbaijan, the US official said that they are deeply impressed on the positive changes in Baku.

While exchanging views on bilateral relations during the G20 Summit in Antalya, the Azerbaijani president recalled the visit U.S. President Barack Obama had made to Azerbaijan as a senator 10 years ago.

President Ilham Aliyev said the two countries have been successfully cooperating in a number of areas, stressing the importance of the relations in the energy and regional security, economic development and other areas.

The parties also discussed the settlement of the Armenian-Azerbaijani Nagorno-Karabakh conflict as well as on Azerbaijan-U.S. cooperation in the energy, economic diversification, trade, education, agriculture, joint projects, counter-terrorism, human rights, democracy, and other areas.
