In a letter from the chairman of the Foreign Relations Committee of Congress Elias Rodriguez Zavaleta to the Embassy in Azerbaijan stressed the importance of strengthening inter-parliamentary cooperation between the two countries and emphasized the importance of creating friendship group in Congress.
It was noted that the establishment of the friendship group is a historic event, which contributes to the development of relations between the two countries.
On June 10, 2013 the Congress of Peru adopted a resolution that condemned the occupation policy of Armenia against Azerbaijan and Khojaly events are regarded as genocide.
