Major 7.5-Magnitude Earthquake Strikes Northern Peru
A very strong 7.5-magnitude earthquake has struck northern Peru, near Brazil, the US Geological Suvery said early Wednesday.
Tremors were registered at 22:45 GMT. The epicenter was located 107 miles northwest of Iberia at the depth of 374 miles.

Quakes of this magnitude can cause considerable damage and collapse buildings, and are felt across an extensive territory.
