Shahdag National Park deliberately set on fire, MENR supposes
The Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources (MENR) has issued a statement on the fire broke out in Shahdag National Park.
MENR press service told APA that the fire broke out in 6 different places of the forest of Shahdag National Park in Guba district on November 25 at about 24:00. The fire was fully extinguished as a result of joint efforts of the employees of the Ministry’s local bodies and Fire Protection Service of the Ministry of Emergency Situations on November 26 at about 07:00.

Dry leaves and tree stumps caught fire in an area of 10 ha of Shahdag National Park. The forest cover was not damaged.

As the fire occurred in several places at the same time, it can be supposed that the park was deliberately set on fire. Shahdag National Park appealed to the police to determine the causes and perpetrators of the incident.
